Postmarks 327 to 331 are identifiable by the position of the letters in relation to the inner circle of dashes and the separation of the letters M (in Jerusalem) and E (in Palestine). See Steichele for an illustration.
The measurement is taken from the tip of the lower bar of the final `E' in PALESTINE
to the top of the right hand upright of `M' in JERUSALEM. The table below gives measurements
and defining characteristics.
Number | Distance | Characteristic |
327 | 11.5mm | A of JERUSALEM above gap in inner ring |
328 | 10.5mm | Left vertical of M aligned with a bar in inner ring |
329 | 11.5mm | A of JERUSALEM above right-hand end of a bar in inner ring |
330 | 10.5mm | Left vertical of M alighned with the end of a bar in the inner ring |
331 | 12.75mm |
Value Values given in Steichele for use on cover. The units are dollars. Single stamps with clear postmarks are generally a fraction of these prices. Use on postcards is at a discount on the prices.
