The French Post Office in Haifa (Caifa)

CAIFA (modern HAIFA). Little is known about the opening of the post-office in Haifa. The town became a regular port of call for French steamers in 1906, and the earliest postmarks date from that year, so it is generally assumed that the post office was opened to meet a need from the passengers visiting from the steamers.
